Winter Fitness Motivation 💪

So we all know that guilty feeling of skipping the gym for the hundredth time in a row, and especially now that Winter is here, there is no way we want to ditch the mince pies and cosy evenings to brace the cold and spend the evening in the gym. But don’t worry girls, we’ve got your back! Keep reading for our tips and tricks to stay motivated throughout the winter…

1. Bag Yourself Some Fab Workout Gear

You’ll be so surprised by how much you’ll actually want to go to the gym when you are dressed in gorgeous gym gear. Get yourself some cute trainers and pair them with some neon pink yoga pants and you’ll practically be running to the gym (if you’ll excuse the pun.)

2. It Doesn’t Have To Be At The Gym

You don’t have to spend hundreds on a gym membership to stay fit and healthy. There are so many fitness activities you can do from the comfort of your own home (and better yet, in your pyjamas!). Yoga is a great way to work out, not to mention the relaxation benefits… so grab a yoga mat and google yoga workouts!

3. Make It Fun

Working out doesn’t have to be a 5 mile run in the hope you won’t pass out before the end. Nowadays, there’s hundreds of fun ways to keep fit like Zumba, Ballet Barre Classes and CrossFit. So find something that suits you, drag a friend along for a gossip on the ride home and voila! Fitness becomes fun.

4. Motivate Yourself

You’re working hard to keep in shape so make sure you reward yourself! Every time you hit a milestone, give yourself a little treat. Or better yet, book yourself a summer holiday so you can show off all your hard work… after all, summer bods are made in the winter!

5. Put It To Use

If there’s an exercise you’ve been training especially hard in, look out for competitions in that sport! It’s a great way to make you feel like your hard work has paid off, and who doesn't want to take home a shiny medal?!

6. Don’t Be Too Strict

Just because you’re aiming to be fit and healthy, it doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy yourself now and then… especially with the festive season coming! Don’t starve yourself of the occasional choccie bar and glass of wine, and don’t feel bad for skipping the odd workout. Just work a little extra the next time you do workout, and you’re good to go.

7. Don’t Pressure Yourself

Don’t feel under pressure to work out in order to look a certain way. You should make sure you work out to stay healthy and because it’s something you want to do, not because someone has told you that you need to do it. If it’s not something you want to do for yourself then you’re not going to feel motivated to do it.

So girls, get experimenting with the different ways to stay fit over the winter… but most importantly, don’t feel guilty if you find yourself cuddled up with a good old Christmas selection box. That’s what Christmas if for, after all!
