Despite the episodes being over a decade old, the Coconut Crew still love nothing more than a S&TC marathon with our favorite friends, Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha and Miranda. The drama series, set in New York, takes a fun approach towards stylish, life-loving women who are dealing with the highs and lows of the dating game in NYC...
Giving us fashion, sex, romance and cosmopolitans, what’s not to love? Here are seven reasons why S&TC was and STILL IS a great watch.
1) Relatable characters:
We can all connect to one of the girls, and quite often, we think we’re a little bit of each of them! Not only are they fabulous, they’re also very relatable because they’re not perfect – and they remind you that you don’t have to be. Samantha’s commitment issues and Miranda’s sarcasm makes for a hilarious watch!
2) Career focused women:
With great jobs and great shoes, these girls never rely on men.
3) Story lines:
Whilst the lack of Iphones in S&TC is a thing of the past, the dating dilemmas are not! S&TC is willing to laugh at your dating woes, and the ‘we’ve been there’ moments are not only still current, but LOL funny.
4) Female friendship:
Ultimately, S&TC reminds you that the most important relationship of all is with your best friends. The girls are great examples of females who support each other. As Carrie once said, ‘if you are single there is always one thing you should take out with you on a Saturday night: your friends’.
5) The set:
What is not to love about New York City?
S&TC teaches you to have fun with fashion. Granted, Carrie did have a few fashion disasters – but there were also moments where we completely envied her wardrobe – personally, our favorite fashion moment was Carrie in Paris. The many designers and amount of styles that appeared on the show are inspiring – Wake up every morning thinking you’re Carrie Bradshaw when looking at what to wear for the day.
7) The script:
Making you laugh and cry, the script is the absolute best part of S&TC. So lets finish this post off with some of our favorite (clean) S&TC quotes to brighten your day!
‘When men attempt bold gestures, generally it's considered romantic. When women do it, it's often considered desperate or psycho.' – Carrie
‘It wasn’t logic, it was love.’ - Carrie
‘There’s always a contest with an ex. It’s called ‘who will die miserable’.’ – Samantha
‘I am someone who is looking for love. Real love. Ridiculous, inconvenient, consuming, can’t-live-without-each-other love.’ - Carrie
‘I like my money where I can see it, hanging in my closet.’ – Carrie
‘Could you please not use the F-word in Vera Wang?’ - Charlotte
‘Are we simply romantically challenged, or are we sluts?” – Carrie
